Thanks for reading and commenting, Karin. You touched on something very important: not comparing oneself with other friends and relatives. I think it is hard to avoid, either consciously or unconsciously, and it always is an unfair comparison as we tend to overestimate other people's choices and underestimate our own's. The most important voice to listen to is ours, although it is easier said than done.

Yes, Zuky is wearing a life jacket! She definitely stole the show on that cottage trip!

Wishing you a great new season!! <3

Hola José. I can relate very much to this latest post. I remember feeling alienated/isolated while working as a radio producer. I “may” have been preparing interview scripts that made an impact on the listener, but I rarely knew. You launched your words & guest selection out into the ether, and wondered who was listening, who cared, and what all the late nights and working on Sundays really amounted to in the end. Perhaps it does all come down to the ultimate question - what can I do well, to do good? At my age (60), the trick is not to get caught up in comparing one’s socioeconomic status with childhood friends or university compatriots. As you say, our lives are not linear. Nor are our bank balances. Ha ha. By the way, I kind of love that underwater shot of doggo. Is he actually wearing a life jacket? Is it me, or did dogs not invent one of the most efficient of swimming strokes - the dog paddle? Thank you for your thoughtful missives. Much to ponder as we approach the year’s longest day this Wednesday.
